Election update: High Street Slate is set

Monday, August 27th, 2012

Mayor Ryan Donnelly, Allen Hollowell and Paul Tulliano to run on High Street slate.

No surprise that petitions to run for Town Council were circulated tonight at the meeting with the names of the High Street slate hand-picked by the political boss.

Kent Pipes is already planning a fundraiser for the slate.

Candidate Hollowell proclaims himself Mayor

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Declares himself the winner before a single vote is cast

I don’t know if its Belton’s arrogance rubbing off on him or his own ego but Candidate Allan Hollowell has a twitter account @MHmayor

*** UPDATE 10/18/11  I guess Hollowell didn’t like the attention because the twitter account was mysteriously deleted this morning. ***

He has been overheard saying that he has the election in the bag and he is the next councilman but proclaiming yourself Mayor before the election is even held is pretty ridiculous. If the size of the banner downtown is an indication of his ego then we have our answer.

Also you can now follow Mount Holly Truth on twitter @MountHollyTruth

I promise some real time updates on twitter once I get the hang of it. And beware Mr. Belton if you continue to park in fire lanes, the twitter world will be watching.

For once I agree with something Kent Pipes said. The “High Street Mafia” as he refers to them are the same political bosses and insiders that I frequently call the High Street Elite.

As printed in BCT on 5/2/11:

Mt. Holly politicians should heed will of the people

It would appear that two elections in a row now Mount Holly voters have raised their voices saying the inept leadership of the Township Council, school boards and Municipal Utilities Authority needs to be replaced.

Misstep after failed misstep, Mount Holly needs to clean house – in the administration (yes, a new manager), new mayor and council members (both Republican and Democrat), school board in the township schools and Rancocas Valley Regional High School and Mount Holly Municipal Utilities Authority.

When the voters really begin to understand the lying, deceitful, self-serving leadership of the township and how much it is going to cost them for failed planning and administration of the so-called redevelopment of the Mount Holly Gardens housing project, they should rise up in anger.

The High Street mafia needs to be silenced and the people of the town need to take back the community they love.

Paid professionals who buy their positions with large campaign contributions need to be ousted, and hardworking, honest, fair, progressive thinkers need to be appointed. Municipal Utilities Authority Director Bill Dunn should be sent home to enjoy his last years on a public pension. The self-interest of the wealthy needs to give way to the good of the common people. One person, one vote – that’s democracy.

The people are speaking. Are the power-hungry, greedy, self-interested aristocrats listening?

Saxton actually voted (for once)

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

Retired congressman did something during this years school election that he has not done in years. He voted.

After checking with Burlington County Superintendent of Elections it was discovered that former Congressman Jim Saxton voted via mail-in “absentee” ballot. Saxton usually doesn’t take the time to vote in the same elections he endorses candidates in. In the 2009 School Board election and in the 2010 May Municipal election he appeared on fancy color mailers (always for incumbents) but with a simple check of public records his name was missing from the rolls of those who voted. The  High Street Machine regularly uses the former Congressman in this manner but it seems that it doesn’t deliver the results that it once did.  Maybe the political machine that runs Mt. Holly and raises our taxes every year has finally sputtered a little bit and is losing steam.

High Street Elite lack class

This was taken the day after the school election on a lawn of a member of the High Street Elite. Give you a hint: Tidswell and Edward’s neighbor who was on the school board for 20+ years.
